The Popular Queen Victoria Market

The Popular Queen Victoria Market

There is a Queen Victoria Gardens at the city proper of Melbourne. It was named after the Queen who ruled the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth for many years. The state itself where it is located was named also after the Queen.  There is another one bearing the same name.  It is Queen Victoria Market which was constructed in 1878.  It occupies a vast tract of land within the city.

Queen Victoria Market is a popular tourist destination. Listed on the Victoria Heritage Register, this public market offers fresh fruits and vegetables.  It also has a meat section and a dry goods area where tourists can buy souvenir items at bargain prices. It is classified as a bargain center.

This public market, which was once a public cemetery, is located within walking distance of Flinders Train Station and St. Paul's Cathedral.  It is very near Flagstaff Gardens and Carlton Gardens.  If you don't feel like walking, there is a shuttle bus free to tourists in front of the National Gallery Of Victoria near the Princes Bridge. It will take you there.

If you want a boomerang or a mace, go to Queen Victoria Market.  If you need winter shoes, Queen Victoria is the right place for you.  If you are looking for baseball caps, printed t-shirts and beer mugs, Queen Vic is it. Almost everything you need is there. At low, low prices.
